Woolmore Primary: Complete
The new Woolmore primary school opens its doors to the first year intake of 700 pupils.
The proposal is part of the Blackwall Reach / Robin Hood Gardens Regeneration Masterplan and represents a significant intervention within the community. The scheme will provide a secure and innovate teaching environment as well as being a hub for local community activity.
The building is divided into two main elements, a teaching block and a flexible administrative centre and community hub. Within the teaching block the classrooms are centred about a naturally lit atrium providing visual connection between the different year groups and increasing cross year group interaction.
“It’s motivating and inspiring to work in a new, purpose-built school.”
Tracy Argent, Headteacher, Woolmore Primary
