London Screen Academy
A redundant former television factory in Islington, north London will soon become the home of the new London Screen Academy. The new school will provide film industry focused vocation a training for 16 – 19 years old, alongside a broader curriculum.
The existing building will undergo a dramatic internal re-configuration, with the core of the deep plan multi-storey industrial space to be demolished and replaced with a three-storey film production studio and supporting facilities.
The general teaching and workshop spaces wrap around the central core facility responding to and utilising the existing external envelope that will remain largely unaltered in appearance.
The insertion of a new rooftop courtyard with film theatre and extensive views over London will complete the arrangement and provide informal social space for staff and students
