Urban regeneration provides mix of family housing and apartments.
The development of the former St Clements’ School site in Ordsall, Salford, forms part of the exciting regeneration of this historically important part of the city.
Ordsall is located between Manchester City Centre and Salford Docks – the home of the new Media City and northern home of the BBC.
The development of 190 acres by LPC living as part of the Ordsall and Riverside master-plan will make a valuable contribution to the creation of a new sustainable urban community. St Clement’s is allocated for a mix of family housing and apartments aimed at attracting a younger dynamic demographic.
The housing model employed delivers 180 dwellings combining housing and apartment typologies to provide a high density solution encouraging diversity, but retaining a domestic scale and aesthetic. The site plays an important function within the masterplan, linking a central pedestrian route through the development. The permeable plan provides a neighbourhood streetscape, creating a defined sense of community.
