Phoenix
upper school

Phoenix Upper School is a joint refurbishment/new build scheme with the existing and local ‘Phoenix SEN School’.

The sensitive project not only provided Tower Hamlet a solution to the local school places crisis, but most importantly, an environment specifically designed to support and inspire 144 pupils with autistic and emotional difficulties aged between 14-19 year olds.

A school has occupied the site since the late 1800’s however, in 2014 the former occupants relocated to a larger facility. The new campus now offers much-needed SEND places for those with learning difficulties within a historic landmark at the heart of its local community.
