Transport orientated urban design revives West Byfleet Town Centre.
Our largest project to date at over 500,000 square feet, West Byfleet Town Centre regeneration represents an extensive transport orientated urban design opportunity.
Blighted by post war planning, and dominated by a 1960s commercial tower, West Byfleet has historically struggled to create a cohesive and connected town centre.
The introduction of a high speed rail link to London, coupled with the extensive retail and residential offerings will breathe new life into the area and enliven the existing community.
The focal point of the proposed masterplan is the introduction of a new Boulevard creating a direct connection between the train station and the town centre. Lined with new, high quality retail offerings, cafes and restaurants together with enhanced community facilities including an ‘Ideas store’ and new cinema, the Boulevard will serve as a new community centre for the existing residents and the 500 new homes.
Regeneration of the station area, including demolishing the existing tower will further improve the public realm, and attractiveness of this local centre.
